A technique I use to help me stay consistent with meditation is to habit pair. I have a few practices that I cluster together as part of my morning routine and do them all together (ie: journal, walk, meditation, stretching).
It is great Gordon that you are feeling an openness to try meditation again. It can be difficult to sit still for the duration and in the past I have struggled with back discomfort as I sat through my meditation (the stretching habit helped with this). Meditation can also be on the go. Don’t let the limits of what meditation “looks like” to impede your follow through with this.
Mindfulness and meditation can be on the go, like say a walk, where you are present. with the sounds, the smells, what you see, and your breath. When you find yourself distracted from the present moment, label this, and come back. Bam. Mindfulness haha.
